AASG Background

• AASG Service Brochure
  This brochure aims to provide an overview of the responsibilities of Internal Audit and what to expect from an Internal Audit review. It also explains a little about the Internal Audit unit within the Research Councils.

• AASG Charter
  The Charter establishes the role and terms of reference of AASG within the Research Councils.

  It has been framed to meet the needs of the Research Councils, the condition within the DTI (OST) Management Statement and Financial Memorandum which requires that the internal audit arrangements shall comply with the objectives, standards and practices outlined in HM Treasury's 'Government Internal Audit Manual', and to follow the professional standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors.

• AASG / NAO Protocol
  This protocol has been developed to enable both AASG and NAO to place reliance on each other's work in helping them to fulfil their respective audit role and formalise those specific areas where co-operation will minimise the overlap of audit effort.
