This document demonstrates to the business community ways in which research funded by the Councils has benefited the UK economy in private, public and policy arenas. It focuses on wealth creation and innovation in four key areas: knowledge networks; education and training; collaborative research and commercialisation. From collaborations with industry in funding pre-competitive research to the £50 million generated by Institutes owned by the Research Councils over the past three years, work on enabling the exploitation of research runs across subject and Council boundaries.
