Networks
Networks create new, interdisciplinary research communities and topics by developing
new linkages and promoting interactions within and beyond the research base. Networks
may lead to new, collaborative, multidisciplinary research proposals; some may develop
into virtual centres of excellence, providing critical mass of expertise; some will
create opportunities for interaction between diverse communities.
