RCUK Public Engagement

Hands in the sky with the sun behindResearch Councils UK (RCUK) believe that engaging the public with research helps empower people, broadens attitudes and ensures that the work of universities and research institutes is relevant to society and wider social concerns.

RCUK is working with other funders of research to create a culture where public engagement is regarded as an important and essential activity by the research community. By establishing an ongoing dialogue between the research community and the public, society can benefit more fully from the outputs of research.

RCUK INVITATION TO SUBMIT PROPOSAL FOR FESTIVAL EVENTS DURING 2012-13

Deadline: Electronic submissions by 5pm Tuesday 10th January 2012

As part of the Research Councils UK (RCUK) festivals strategy, we endeavour to support one Science focussed and one non-Science focussed festival a year to deliver events that enable our researchers to engage with a variety of audiences.

We are therefore pleased to invite you to submit a short proposal on ways in which we could work together with one of our cross-Council themes that have been established to help solve many of the big research challenges over the next 10 to 20 years. We are able to consider festivals held between 1st April 2012 and 31st March 2013 and please find further information and guidance here PDF 400KB. If you wish to discuss your proposal before submitting then please contact Cheryl.hewer@rcuk.ac.uk
