Further information about the Programme
The Research Councils UK Energy Programme is informed by a range of different
sources. We are involved in ongoing dialogue with the research community, through
our visits to universities, energy-related businesses and other stakeholders.
We also take account of emerging priorities for the Programme by consultation
through the following routes:
Workshops: held to identify research and training challenges and priorities, scope
specific activities, and consult and engage with a wide range of stakeholders:

Nuclear Power Research and Training Report
Report of workshop on 15 June 2009. Opportunity to add to output of workshop
open until 3 August 2009.

UK - US Workshop in Nuclear Engineering
Report of the workshop held in Washington 20-21 April 2009. The workshop
was aimed at identifying areas of potential collaborative activity between UK
and US academics and other stakeholders.

Energy and Communities
Workshop held on 3 March 2009 to scope, and promote a strategic research agenda
to address sustainability of Energy in Communities and to strengthen the capability
of the UK research base in Energy and Communities. Following this workshop a
call for proposals was announced on 27 November 2009.

Meeting the energy challenge workshop
Helping to developing our understanding of the emerging priorities for the Programme

End-use Energy Demand 
This was a one day workshop to help plan the Energy Programme’s research agenda in end-use energy demand. The main purpose of the workshop was to examine the research gaps, provide advice on what research is required and what might be the best mechanisms to support the research.
Energy Research Summits:
A series of energy summits to stimulate engagement and partnership between the different
funding agencies, industry and government.
