RCUK asked the EPSRC to organise, on behalf of all UK Research Councils and in conjunction with the learned societies, a Review of Energy to provide an independent assessment of the quality and impact of the UK Programme.
Following the completion of the Review there was a public launch of the Review Panel report and findings at a ‘Town Meeting’ which was held on 18th January 2011 at the RSA, 8 John Adam Street, London, WC2N 6EZ.
The meeting included a presentation of the report of the Review Panel and a discussion of the findings, in order to begin development of an action plan to take the recommendations forward.
The Review Panel’s report was presented by the Chair of the Review, Dr Carsten Westergaard (Vestas Technology R&D Americas, Inc, USA), and copies of the report were made available shortly before the meeting.
The panel’s recommendations form an integral part of RCUK’s planning process, informing future key priorities.
