Low temperature washing research shines through and cleans up

EPSRC-funded research by chemists at the University of Warwick and Aston University, into the potential use nanodiamonds in low temperature washing, attracted considerable worldwide media interest this week, both in print and online.

The research, known as the "Cold Water Cleaning Initiative", is funded through collaboration between Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) and P&G plc. It is led by Dr Andrew Marsh in the University of Warwick's Department of Chemistry and its aim is to explore how new forms of carbon might work together with detergents in everyday household products.
